Finding the right expertise
You’re installing a new assistive listening system because you care about the access needs of your customers. It helps if you work with an installer who shares your commitment to the customer experience.
If you have a trusted AV partner, find out whether they have experience of installing Auracast systems. If not, manufacturers offer industry training to installers.
Alternatively, Auracast transmitter manufacturers can put you in touch with local installation partners. Installers may only work with one transmitter brand, so be sure to consider more than one option.
An installer can recommend a complete system that meets your needs, including:
- How many transmitters you need and where they should be placed
- How many receivers (if any) you will need
- How it will integrate with your existing infrastructure
- How it will be configured, including the broadcast name, how many streams, and so on
- Tools for ongoing system management
- How you will confirm that the system is working for every show
As part of the installation, they should offer a complete system verification and have the tools to troubleshoot problems. Some AV companies may not have experience working with RF equipment, so confirm they can analyse the 2.4 GHz spectrum – see Possible sources of interference.
Installers may offer additional services such as remote system monitoring, technical support, and Staff training.
