Our Research Panel is a group of people with lived experience and people with close connections to our cause that takes part in research on a regular basis.

They inform our work by helping us find out more about the experiences of deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus.

Join the panel

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive an email confirming your place on the panel including a link to a survey where we’ll ask you for some more information about yourself. By answering these questions, you can make sure you receive research opportunities that are most relevant to you.

Who can join

Anyone with a close connection to our cause is welcome! We’re particularly interested in deaf BSL users and those with lived experience of being deaf, having hearing loss or tinnitus joining the panel.

Please note that to be part of our Research Panel, you need to be aged 18 years and above and live in the UK.

What you’ll be asked to do

If you join the panel, you’ll receive a monthly email of new research opportunities as well as occasional emails with opportunities more specific to you. Emails will let you know what’s involved in participating so you can decide which opportunities suit you.

Examples of the types of research opportunities you might receive are:

  • Testing RNID products and services, such as the hearing check.
  • Completing surveys and taking part in interviews or focus groups on topics that are important to our communities.
  • Sharing your opinions on our campaigning work, such as the Subtitle It! Campaign.
  • Sharing your user experiences of new apps, products and services for companies working with RNID to improve accessibility features.
  • Opportunities from relevant organisations we think you might be interested in.

We’ll also share research results and what actions we plan to take. All we ask is for panel members to commit to contributing on a regular basis.

If you want to leave the panel at any time, just get in touch with us at [email protected], or unsubscribe from the mailing list by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of a Research Panel email.
