Webinar with Call Systems Technology: ensuring workplace safety for our communities

Do you run a company that wants to create safe and inclusive environments for deaf people and people with hearing loss? Find out more about how below.

Our recent partnership with Call Systems Technology (CST) was built on a shared mission to enhance the safety for and inclusivity of people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus in public venues, buildings, and services. We attended a webinar with CST to discuss the experiences, challenges, and needs of people who are deaf or have hearing loss concerning safety and inclusion.

The importance of workplace safety

Workplace safety is not just a duty of a company or organisation, but a critical business decision. Research shows that over 70% of hearing aid users would choose to engage with companies that have deaf aware staff over those that don’t.

But much more importantly, missing crucial information shared through sound or audio, such as a fire alarm, a critical alert, or workplace communication, can be extremely dangerous for deaf people and people with hearing loss.

How businesses and companies can ensure safety and inclusion

Going to work or having a  trip away should never be overshadowed by the fear of not being safe or not having essential requirements met. Unfortunately, this fear is still very much a reality for members of our communities.

This was highlighted by our Associate Director of Employment and Inclusion, Teri Devine, when she joined Rod Foot, Business Development Manager at CST, to discuss modern safety solutions and inclusive strategies that businesses should consider.

You can hear from Teri and CST about how organisations and businesses can assure safety and inclusion of their staff and customers that are deaf or have hearing loss, by signing up to access our webinar below.
