Old name, new purpose: why we’ve gone back to RNID

Translational research

Across the UK, 12 million people have hearing loss and around 1 in 8 adults live with tinnitus. Despite this, there are not yet any clinically approved treatments or cures. We are determined to change this.

We support translational research – where promising discoveries move from the laboratory into clinical trials. Our Translational Research Initiative for Hearing (TRIH) initiative has four key components:

  • funding
  • consultancy
  • working with partners
  • engaging with patients.

Find out more about how we can help in each of these areas below. You can also email trih@rnid.org.uk for more information.
