Feeling worried or anxious can have a big impact on your mental health. We are pleased to make 4 BSL videos available to help you find out what is most important to you and give you the skills to live your life with more confidence.
This course has been produced by Dr Neil Frude, a consultant clinical psychologist with over 40 years’ experience. Our charity worked with Dr Frude to develop these BSL translations of the course to support the mental wellbeing of BSL users.
What’s in the course
These videos can help you to take greater control of your actions, so that day-to-day life becomes less distressing and more enjoyable. You will learn practical and effective ways of dealing with thoughts and feelings that may be causing distress.
Step by step, the video course will show you how you can improve your mental health and wellbeing.
From 31 January, we will be releasing one of the 4 videos each week, so you can your take time to work through the course.
Video 1: You are not your mind
Learn about how your mind works – and how it often works against you. But by taking more control, you can stop your mind spoiling things for you.
Video 2: Facing up to life
We often make great efforts to avoid or change things that can’t be changed, and this can make things worse for us. It’s often better to use acceptance.
Video 3: Being mindful
Mindfulness helps us to focus more on the present – and the benefits of this are extremely powerful. Learn how to practice the art of ‘just noticing’.
Video 4: Living wisely, living well
What matters to you? What do you really care about? Discover how acting in tune with your values can be the very best way for you to have a better life.
