Stefan’s approaches to hearing research

What do you see as the most exciting breakthrough in hearing research in the last 10 years?

The development of smart, cheap high quality personal hearing amplifiers with the potential to support people with a mild to moderate loss.

What motivates you to try to improve the world of people who are deaf, have hearing loss, or who have tinnitus?

I see too many people in their 50 and 60 suffering from hearing loss but seemingly unable to admit that they do, and to realise that they might be better off with a hearing aid early on to improve their quality of life.

What does RNID funding mean to you?

It enables me to undertake interesting and exciting early research that I otherwise could not do.
