We regularly carry out research to find out more about the experiences of deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus, such as short surveys and inviting people to take part in focus groups and one-to-one interviews.
One of the best ways you can get involved in our research is by joining our research panel.
Our research panel is a group of deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus who have signed up to take part in our research on regular basis. Our panel members have also previously taken part in projects to help us shape our priorities and inform the design of research studies.
Why you should join
Evidence gathered through our research panel informs our work in many different ways. Good research is reliant on people being willing to share their views and experiences. Our research panel is a great opportunity for deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus to share their views on a range of different topics and shape the overall direction of our work.
We also keep panel members updated about the outcome of projects, including the results and what action has been taken as a result of the findings.
What being a panel member will involve
We ask panel members to complete up to four short online surveys a year. From time to time, you may also be contacted about opportunities to take part in focus groups or one-to-one interviews.
If you apply to be a part of our research panel you will be under no obligation to complete every survey or take part in other research activities. However, for the panel to be worthwhile, we really need people who are committed to providing feedback on a regular basis. Not all panel members will be asked to take part in every survey, as some surveys will be targeted at specific groups.
