The London Marathon is the biggest charity event in the calendar. This year, it didn’t disappoint! RNID was thrilled to have a team of 18 supporters run the iconic route for people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. Below, our Events team looks back on the day.
“The atmosphere in the city was electric as always and we cheered and clapped loud and proud as they passed us at our cheer points at Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and Embankment. It was fantastic to meet some of our runners and their friends and family at our post-race reception and to hear more about why they chose to take on such a challenge for RNID.
“The rain couldn’t dampen our spirits, we were in awe of our marathon runners who went above and beyond to train and fundraise. It’s no small feat, but they (literally!) go the extra mile to raise vital funds to support the work of RNID.
“On behalf of everyone from RNID a huge thank you and congratulations to all our London Marathon runners for their months of dedicated training and committed fundraising. And thanks also to our team of volunteers who came out on the day and cheered and clapped with such enthusiasm!”
