We’re offering 3 new remote courses to help businesses become more accessible
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been adapting our Louder than Words business accessibility services. Current restrictions mean we’re unable to provide face-to-face training so we’re offering 3 new remote events.
These monthly sessions are designed to help organisations understand the barriers faced by staff and customers who are deaf or have hearing loss, and the steps they can take to overcome them. They’re available to book exclusively for one business or as open events for delegates from different organisations:
1. Remote BSL taster course
A 60-minute introduction to BSL. Delegates will learn some basic signs to use with colleagues and customers whose first or preferred language is BSL. Learn more about the remote BSL taster course.
“A fantastic taster session to BSL for a staff team day. Everything was straightforward to organise right from the start and our trainer provided a fantastic session via Zoom. Highly recommended.”Victim Support
2. Remote deaf awareness training course
A 90-minute session to improve communication skills and confidence when speaking to deaf people and those with hearing loss. Learn more about the remote deaf awareness training course.
“The deaf awareness session (delivered remotely) was interesting, engaging and ran seamlessly. Any preconceptions that anyone may have had about deaf people or people with hearing loss must have been eliminated within minutes; it’s really quite powerful.”Beth Kevill – TrustPilot
3. Remote RNID seminar (free)
A 60-minute seminar explaining the barriers faced by staff and customers who are deaf or have hearing loss and the steps that can be taken to overcome them. Learn more about the remote RNID seminar.
“Really great session, learnt so much.”SP – TrustPilot
