Roadmap

Find out what RNID is working on now and what we might work on in the future to become a digitally-led charity.

Our current roadmap takes us through to June 2022. We’re still working on it and things may change as we better understand our users’ needs.

Recently delivered

  • People can check their hearing online and find next steps to get support.
  • People can get information on getting hearing aids, benefits and accessible devices in our Get support online service.
  • People can access email support for getting hearing aids.
  • Our website is compliant with cookies consent regulation.

Q3 October – December 2021

We’re discovering

  • how we might design and prototype our new contact centre
  • how we might design a service to help people manage and maintain their hearing aids
  • how we might design a new volunteer experience

We’re delivering

  • an MVP of a recruitment site to replace Cascade (our old job site)
  • designing content for our Get support online service so that:
    • people know how to support someone who has hearing loss
    • people can find information on coping with tinnitus

Other activities

  • A/B testing different ways of displaying the hearing check results
  • review how we use analytics
  • recruitment drive to appoint vacant roles
  • reviewing how people find and use Get Support Online

Q4 January – March 2022

We’re discovering

  • how we might connect deaf people or those with hearing loss or tinnitus with other organisations (Directory)
  • how we might connect deaf people or those with hearing loss or tinnitus with each other (Community)

We’re delivering

  • a volunteer led service to help people manage and maintain their hearing aids
  • a new contact centre
  • people who use BSL as their first language can get support online

Q1 April – June 2022

We’re discovering

  • how we might best help people find assistive technology (Video content/Demos)
  • how we might deliver a new recruitment site and onboarding process
  • how we might develop a new fundraising product
  • how we might deliver our Support Services digitally

We’re delivering

  • our Directory product
  • our Community product
  • the decommissioning of Louder Than Words
